The Minnesota Poultry Testing Lab plays a role in role in human and animal health by facilitating the rapid identification of poultry diseases and certifying poultry products for interstate and international shipments. It is a cooperative venture between the Minnesota Board of Animal Health and the University of Minnesota Veterinary Diagnostic Laboratory (VDL). The lab is located in Willmar, the heart of poultry-producing Kandiyohi County.
The project expanded the existing facility from 3,600 sf to 11,900 sf, added a new testing procedure, and improved the overall security, safety and flexibility in the facility. The project was designed and constructed in eleven months.
